Starting Over

starting over

How has it been 4 years since I last posted on here? That is actually ridiculous and slightly embarrassing but hey, i'm back and i'm ready to jump back into it.

So, it may be worth introducing myself again as (so cliche) but I'm definitely not the same girl that was blogging on here 4 years ago- and that's okay! To summarise the past 1,460 days, me and my boyfriend bought a house together, Holly (our gorgeous border collie) joined our little family, I've been busy working as a marketing executive in a real adult job and overall i've just been plodding along really- sorry that's not too exciting!

I could lie and say I don't know why I felt like blogging again, but the truth is, life- is- hard, and if the past few weeks have taught me anything it's that you don't need to have your life together by the time your 24 and it's completely fine if you're not where you expected to be at this stage (although scary!) I mean I have to give myself some credit, I'm a homeowner, a fur baby mama and over the past 4 years I have been working and doing okay for myself. So back to why i'm blogging again- due to unforeseen circumstances (thankfully not my own fault!), i've found myself currently unemployed  and so I have a fair bit of 'free' time on my hands to do something I enjoy. So this is now officially my 'me' time, and i'm ready to grab it with both hands.

So whilst i'm on the job hunt (and I promise to try and keep up with it after too), I'm going to blog away about whatever takes my fancy so if you're looking for something not so put together and a little bit all over the place then please, feel free to stick around!

Event: #AXPressDayAW14

Yesterday me and my friend, Sarah attended the press day for AX Paris. The day was a chance for bloggers/vloggers/instagrammers to get together and take a peek at the new AW14 collection. I was dying to try out 'home sweet home' in Manchester's Northern Quarter so to start of the day we went for some lunch there, which by the way, is so delicious and the decor is amazing!
Even though I live in Manchester I am forever getting lost so after walking around for a while and using maps on my phone (nightmare) we arrived at the Black Dog Ball Room all ready for the AX Paris event. It was so lovely seeing the girls I worked with when I did my internship and as soon as we walked in we were offered complimentary drinks. As I opted for a coke (driving), Sarah had a yummy looking cocktail and we sat with a  lovely talented lady and had henna done.
The clothes at the event were beautiful and got me so excited for the A/W seasons. There were so many lovely faces there and it was great to finally meet some bloggers who's blogs I have been following for a long while. I had a lovely chat with Laura (the pixie cut) who was as lovely in person as she in pictures. With a Photo Booth in one corner (must have) and an Instagram picture printer in another (how amazing) it is safe to say us bloggers were in our element.
Sadly I had to leave early to attend work and I was so sad I was still so full from dinner when they brought out lovely little burgers and pizza and wait for it... sweet potato fries. I couldn't even face eating a cupcake! Nether the less they still all looked delicious.

To top it off as we left we were handed a packed goody bag full of amazing treats including: a full sized Lee Stafford 'Frizz Off', Full bottle of NKD SKN fake tan, eyelashes from the Vintage cosmetic company, A make-up brush from Nanshy, Anatomicals face mask, Buddy scrub body scrub, Zoeva eye liner, Batiste plumping powder, Lipgloss from MeMeMe, Gelly nail paint from Barry M, Lip butter from Collection and not forgetting yummy treats from Tea pig, Pop chips, Jelly Belly and Vita Coco.

Thank you to AX Paris for a wonderful event!

Fight Cancer with Fashion

I was so excited when I was invited to an event by Branded Lab PR (my first ever blogger event!). It was held in the allotment bar in the Northern Quarter in Manchester which was so cute. I have never been there before but I absolutely loved the interior and the whole vibe.

I was allowed to take up to 3 plus one's so me and my friends, Emily and Tessa went along to the event and had a lovely time. There were various pop up shops where we could purchase things from as little as £1 and all proceeds went to Breast cancer awareness which was so lovely (stay tuned for a haul!) We spent the night sipping on drinks and nibbling on cupcakes whilst having a peek through the different rails of clothing and socialising with other bloggers.
I bought so much and only spent £10 which is amazing, and all money made has gone towards breast cancer research which is perfect. The night in total made an amazing £416.13- massive well done to the Branded Lab team!

My OOTN: I teamed my grid print skirt with my baby pink top, finishing the look off with a bright pink necklace and black chunky boots (not forgetting tights because I live in England).

Instagram is my favourite social networking site and I am constantly checking it and uploading my ever move to it (with a few exceptions)- so I thought I would share my Insta life lately.

1. This picture of my hair is from when I decided to try curling my hair with toilet roll, yes, seriously. The results were amazing and I absolutely loved the curls I ended up with. This no heat hairstyle is such a good way to curl your hair over night.

2. On Saturday me and my boyfriend, Kyle along with his cousin and her boyfriend headed for a day out and ended up in Giraffe. This is a foodie picture I took of my (delicious) Falafel burger and sweet potato fries.

3. I went snowboarding! It was so much fun but I didn't realise how much of a work out it would actually be, and how unfit I am for that matter! Here is me and Kyle sporting our very "flattering" snow outfits.

4. This afternoon me and 16 other members of my family went out for a meal after my cousins birthday party. Kyle snapped this of me looking out of the window and I thought it looked pretty cool.

If you fancy following me on Instagram my name is @emmakellyxxx and my link is also on the side of my page. Leave your links in the comments below and I will check it out too :)
